Summary

The Order of Malta Knight Run project supports the SIMON Community Welfare Clinic for the homeless providing food and supplies weekly in Dublin city centre.

Detailed description

The Order of Malta Knight Run project supports the SIMON Community Welfare Clinic for the homeless providing food and supplies weekly in Dublin city centre.

The Knight Run was established as a pilot project in July 2014 by Order of Malta Ireland as an addition to the ongoing joint venture already in place between Dublin Simon and the Ambulance Corps.

The main objective of the project is to provide support and a friendly face to talk to for clinic users every Thursday, and over the past 2 years the project has proved hugely successful in supporting the Dublin homeless community, as well as driving traffic to the SIMON mobile clinic.

Each week, clients are provided with sandwiches, tea/coffee, soup, socks, underwear, clothes, toiletries and more.

This volunteering opportunity is suitable for all age groups. Tasks range from sandwich preparation to engaging with our service users. The Knight Run takes place every Thursday afternoon/evening in Dublin.

If you are interested in joining our project please contact us via this platform.

All volunteers will be required to be in compliance with our safeguarding procedures.
