British Camp Leader, Chabrouh - Harriett Sasada
LOVE... the reason I keep going back to Lebanon every summer for the Chabrouh camps. The love that is both given and received during our time in Lebanon is extraordinary and unique.
From personal experience I know the importance of holding someone's hand when they cannot communicate as it shows that there is someone there who cares. The experience of the camps can be highly emotional for our volunteers, as the reality of our guests' everyday situation is so very different to ours. Being able to provide one to one care and love to someone less fortunate than ourselves is what makes this project so special.
Organising this project for the OMV is a great honour and pleasure for me. I would advise anyone and everyone to volunteer for this project as I cannot describe the truly amazing experience using words alone.
This project is an international project where delegations from all over the world provide volunteers throughout the whole summer. If you are interested in joining any camps next year please do not hesitate to get in touch [firstname.lastname@example.org].
