Young members and volunteers of the Order of Malta
History of involvement with the Order
I joined the Singapore Association of the Order of Malta as an associate in 2006 and was invested as a Knight of Magistral Grace in 2014. Currently the youngest member of the association, I have co-ordinated young volunteers on two archdiocesan-level events organised by the Singapore Association where we endeavoured to bring the Lourdes experience to Singapore with our local malade brethren in mind. Although the Singapore Association actively participates in the order's annual international pilgrimages, the number of malade brethren we can sponsor each trip is limited, also taking into account the distance from Singapore to France which places additional stress on manpower constraints for our small association. Therefore the Lourdes-Singapore Experience was conceived to reach out to even more malade brethren and also to the local faithful. I invite you to learn more about our efforts, which have been well-received by HMEH as well as the esteemed members of the Sovereign Council, via Google. As the youngest member, I see it as my primary task to expand and rejuvenate the association with fresh blood in line with Vision 2050 and HMEH's call for younger members to serve the order.
