Team VOTO will be walking the 21 km Malta walkathon whilst pushing one of our Dear Friends along the way. We would love to have more team members onboard!

Detailed description

We as VOTO (Volunteers of the Order Malta) are once again putting a team together to participate in the Malta Walkathon, in order to raise awareness for the work we carry out.

This will be our second walkathon as the last one took place in 2020.

We will be pushing one of our Dear Friends in her wheelchair throughout the walkathon and each team member will take it in turns to help push along the way.

If you are keen to fly to Malta for the weekend and join us on the walkathon we would love to have more people join & support us whilst also making some noise along the way.

Applications close on the 15th February 2023. Please bear in mind that this is a 21km walk / race therefore an element of fitness and preparation is required before participation.

About Volunteers of the Order - Malta

VOTO (Volunteers of the Order) is instituted to enrol and organise its members, operating within the spirit and ideals of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), as a peripheral organisation thereof, particularly in the fields of spiritual, social and medical welfare, thereby upholding the values of SMOM's values of tuitio fidei and obsequium pauperum.

On application, one forms part of the aspirantate which usually lasts approximately one calendar year, during which period the aspirant is expected to participate in some of VOTO's Activities. VOTO holds several activities and events throughout the year. Special emphasis is to be placed on the aspirants participation in the Order's Pilgrimages to Lourdes and Ta' Pinu in Gozo.

At the end of the aspirantate, the aspirant may be invited to join VOTO by the Council to apply for full membership. The Council, together with the Spiritual Director shall then decide whether or not to admit the aspirant as a full member of VOTO.
