Experience one unique month of service, friendship and faith in the mountains of Lebanon.Detailed description
Volunteers are paired one-to-one with guests. Duties vary from providing personal care to providing companionship and helping to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere around the camp.
Our guests come from care homes in Lebanon where they live very limited lives. The homes receive limited government support and there is an overwhelming challenge, made even harder during Lebanon's economic crisis.
For some of them, their week in the mountains is the one chance to leave the home that year. For each new volunteer who travels with us, another guest is able to join the camp.
Our volunteers are joined by Lebanese members of the Order, who provide the local nous and language skills to ensure that we are able to communicate effectively . Many of our guests are non-verbal.

About Order of Malta Lebanon - The Lebanon Camps
At our holiday camps, and for the past 20 years, these forgotten people experience love and affection, joy and fun, and one-to-one care.
Thanks to the contribution of local and international youth delegations, 30 one-week camps in 2 hosting centers (Chabrouh and Kfardebian) were organized in 2022 with the support of 950 volunteers from different nationalities and with the participation of 500 differently abled and vulnerable guests.
The Lebanon camps are an opportunity to build long lasting smiles on the faces of all guests and volunteers, as well as experience service, friendship, and faith at the heart of the Lebanese mountains.
