Order of Malta CARAVAN gives young adults the opportunity to do voluntary work in the spirit of the Order of Malta during a ten months stay in Lebanon.Detailed description
Caravan is a joined project between the Lebanese and the German Association of the Order of Malta. It was founded in 2009. Since than over 150 young people have joined the program.
The Caravan Project enables young adults (between 18-22 years old) to spend ten months of voluntary work in Lebanon combined with an academic, spiritual and personal formation.
Do you want to experience a lifechanging time? Do you want to break out of your everyday life and discover an exciting country? Do you want to know what it means to give your time to others and bring them joy and hope? Do you want to be part of a community and form true life-lasting friendships?
Caravan gives you the opportunity to spend 10 months in Lebanon – a breath-taking country with a fascinating culture and history. Caravan is a time where you get to know yourself and open your heart for others by bringing hope and love into the homes of our disabled guests. Caravan is a possibility for you to get out of our comfort zone, go deep and build friendships with other international volunteers working alongside with you.

About Gemeinschaft junger Malteser (GjM), German Association
Through donated time and love for a person in need we learn what it means to be a loving and beloved child of God. From this experience and in common prayer, our community grows in the spirit of the Order of Malta. Clearly, we will fail again and again in our effort to live a Christian life. But precisely through failure, overload and doubt, we are able to help each other up again.
