Malteser Albania Summer Camp for Marginalised Children
Malteser Albania Summer Camp, 2018
210 Roma and Egyptian children, children from rural areas and children coming from Lezha city spent their summer holidays for a week at a time, from 25th June to 28th July 2018.
This year the goal of the project was the integration of Roma and Egyptian children, and of those coming from the rural areas in the social life, and offer them the opportunity to have summer vacation, since it is impossible for them to have holidays with their families due to economic and social conditions.
The children participating in the camp were divided into three shifts, 70 children per shift, which lasted 8 days and 20 Albanian volunteers, who performed the daily activities according to the plan. All the staff members and volunteers facilitated the camp activities giving a hand in cleaning, logistics, and care of the children.
On July 26 a Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Dede Gjoka and after Mass a festive atmosphere was created. All the people present were invited to attend the show "I love Malteser Albania" initiated and conducted by the children and volunteers.
