Belgium National Camps for Young Disabled People

Belgium National Camps for Young Disabled People

Three national camps for young handicaped people. Both have place during July, and for 2015, at the same place at Malaise, near Dinant (south of Belgium).
An interesting and constructive activity for the young volunteers, in a cheerful family atmosphere, and the opportunity for several young handicapped people to spend a week in tents, outside their daily context!
Traditionally, we had two summer camps, “Les Alouettes” (The Larks) and “Les Jaguars” (The Jaguars), both for handicapped people (12x2, then 24..) from 12 to 22 years old..
Since last year, we’ve organized a third summer camp, “Les Abeilles” (The Bees), for handicapped children (12) from 7 to 12 years old.
So the three camps occur one after another at the same place, and this avoids the problems of transport equipment (tents, cooking equipment, hardware games, showers…).
Their organization and particularly heavy stewardship are supported with enthusiasm and dedication by young volunteers (24 by staff, from 16 to 30 years old)
