History of involvement with the Order

I first joined the OMV in 2007, and have since attended the July Lourdes pilgrimages as well as Easter pilgrimages to Malta and Paris. Back in the UK I have volunteered at the joint OMV/BASMOM Walsingham pilgrimages, the annual Christmas Reunion at Worth Abbey, London soup kitchens with the Companions of the Order, and as a staff member on the 2010 International Summer Camp in Wales.

I was an OMV committee member between 2010 and 2013, with responsibility for re-founding and editing the annual magazine, and was involved in organising fundraising activities. In 2013 I first joined the May Lourdes pilgrimage with BASMOM, and handled the 2015 DBS paperwork as part of the safeguarding team. Over the summer of 2015 I worked at the Global Fund for Forgotten People on grants administration and communications.

I continue to volunteer on Order activities and am a member of the Vision 2050 working group for spiritual formation. My current focus is on helping Mgr John Armitage to organise a retreat in Walsingham for young UK members and volunteers of the Order, and of course getting to know international volunteers at Vision 2050 events!
